Welcome to Country Acres Dog Boarding! We are a professional dog boarding facility that is located in De Witt Iowa and are here to provide a safe place for our customers of the Quad Cities and surrounding areas to board their dog. Whether you are coming from Davenport, Bettendorf, Eldridge, Clinton, Maquoketa, or Moline our kennel will work well for your dog boarding needs. This article should help ease the stress of planning what to do with your canine family member during your time away from home.

Making Your Reservation

Here at Country Acres Dog Boarding we have a couple different ways to make a reservation depending on your preference. One way you can make a reservation is though our website using the reservation online form. When submitting your information in this way, expect a phone call or email shortly after to confirm your reservation. The other method you can use is to call us and get things setup that way. We will need the following information for your reservation:
• The dates and times of your drop off and pick up
• Your name, address, phone number, and email address
• Your dog’s name, breed, and age
• Your dog’s Veterinarian office and phone number
• Your dog’s vaccination records
• Any special instructions or medications your dog may need

When it comes to the vaccination records of your pet, we must get proof from your veterinarian. The three main vaccinations that we must have proof of is Rabies, Distemper/Parvovirus, and Bordetella (canine cough). We also require Flea Treatment from April through November. We will work with you to get this information before your drop off date. You can either drop a copy of the records off a few days before your reservation, email the records to us, or we can simply call your veterinarian and verbally confirm the vaccination information. We have a good relationship with many of the Veterinarian clinics located in De Witt, Eldridge, Davenport, Clinton, Maquoketa and other areas around the Quad Cities in both Iowa and Illinois. We are here to serve the Quad Cities and are willing to work with any Veterinarian to make the process go smooth. Any good boarding facility should require proper vaccinations and flea preventives for all dogs, not only to keep their facility free from diseases, but to protect the dogs staying with us from anything that may harm their health. Once all information is in our hands, you can start to think about what you want to bring when dropping your dog off.

Dropping Off Your Dog

When dropping off your dog it is a good idea to bring the following items:
• The food your dog usually eats and enough for the duration of their stay
• Any of your dog’s home comfort items (beds, toys, travel kennel, treats, chew toys, bones)
• Your Dog’s leash and collar
• Any medication or items for special needs
• There is no need to bring bowls from home; we supply sanitized bowls for water and food.
Once you have all items packed and you arrive at our facility it is best to bring in all items for your dog and get checked in. To get checked in, there will be a one page contract you will need to review and sign. From there you can bring your dog in and we will take your dog back to his/her kennel!

Your Dog is Now Our Guest

From here you can be confident in the care your dog is receiving. We let all of our canine guests out into either of our two fenced in yards for exercise and potty time. Your dog will be let out 3-4 times a day with his or her last outside time being after 7:00 p.m. in the evening. Our facility is equipped with central air for those hot summer days, radiant heat floors for warm kennels in the winter, and large kennels to relax in. Our facility is designed to keep your dog comfortable no matter what the weather outside is like. We keep a regular feeding schedule and give fresh water throughout the day. We also have a washer and dryer in our facility just in case your dog’s favorite bedding gets soiled in any way. If there is ever any kind of an emergency we will immediately call your vet and arrange for transport if needed. We have transport vehicles on site in the event we need to quickly take them to the vet. In this situation we will call and let you know what is going on. Our priority is the safety of your dog and we will work hard to make sure that your dog has received the proper care. If your regular vet is located in Davenport, Maquoketa, Bettendorf, or Moline, during an emergency we may take your dog to a local veterinarian in De Witt, Eldridge, or Clinton Iowa. For non-emergency care, we will take your dog to their regular veterinarian.

Time to Go Home!

When you arrive, it is now time to check out and pay for your dog’s stay with us. We accept almost all forms of payment including most types of credit/debit cards, checks and cash. Once all the paperwork is out of the way, we will then bring you your dog’s items. From this point you can either go load those items in your vehicle or wait for us to bring out your best friend that you have been missing. Prepare for one happy puppy! We hope that you are satisfied with the care of your dog and hope to see you again soon. If there are any comments or questions from this point please do not hesitate to bring them up.

Thank you for considering Country Acres Dog Boarding! I hope that this information was helpful in making the dog boarding process move along smooth. Like I said before, whether you are coming from Davenport, Bettendorf, Eldridge, Clinton, Maquoketa, Moline, or anywhere around the Quad Cities, our facility will be worth the drive when it comes to boarding your dog.
